Home made pasta sauce




In one of my previous entries, I did promise to share my home made pasta sauce. 

Home made pasta sauce

1 kg ripe tomatoes
3Tbsp brown sugar
Salt
Olive oil 
150 gm sun dried tomatoes-chopped (i used bottled one in sunflower oil as in pic below)
200 gm tomato puree (i used tesco's in the tube)
4 onions - diced
1 can button mushroom - sliced (optional)
150 gm mince chicken (optional)
5 pulp garlic - chopped
mixed herbs or chopped fresh basil.
1-2 bayleaves

- Halve tomatoes and place in suitable baking dish.
- Sprinkle with brown sugar, salt and a dash of olive oil.
- Bake in oven for about 30 mins (160 deg C). Another way is to blanch
- Cooled, remove skin & mash lightly
- Saute garlic in olive oil, add in mince chicken and fry till meat is cooked.
- Add in onions followed by mushroom and keep stirring until soft.
- Pour mashed tomatoes into pan, stir.
- Add sun dried tomatoes & tomato puree.
- Add mixed herbs & bay leaf
- Stir and let it boil for about 10 minutes.
- Put to small fire and let it simmer for one hour ( i transferred to rice cooker/slow cooker after this and cook it further for few hours)
- Done. Let it cool, keep in air tight container and refrigerate.

Note: As always, different people have different style of preparing, this is just one of it.  
# I keep my extras in the freezer as this one has no preservatives.
# Use this basic sauce on spaghetti, pizzas, lasagna, stews or even coney dogs etc as you like it!
# Add cili paste if you prefer hot. 
# Sometimes sauce colour is slightly 'orange(not dark)'-depending on the tomatoes,unlike those bottled sauces, what i do is to add one bottle of the pasta sauce (my fav is prego or heinz) to my mix (pst pst, my grown up children is very fussy as they don't really like their sauce to be different from that in the bottle)


 Whatever it is, if you want to try this recipe 'just as it is' please do so as i can assure YOU WON'T FAIL. Happy trying, have a good day and be happy with what you do.

  3. Insyaallah.. Saya pernah cuba masak pasta dulu.. dah lama dah.. dah hampir lupa.. tapi baru-baru ni teringat lak.. cari punya cari terjumpalah blog makcik.. lepas baca baru teringat cara masak pasta..

    Saya amat menghormati dan menghargai susah payah makcik..

    Kemarin baru buat kat rumah. Biasa hujung minggu aku try resepi untuk improve aku punya menu. Minggu depan mungkin buat nasi tomato pulak kot.

  6. Pagi ni saya ada sikit masa terluang untuk mentelaah dan melihat foto2 dalam blog makcik yang menarik dan berkualiti. Bermula hanya dari makanan sampai ke leisure activities. Syabas! Excilent job ha! About the food, saya yg tak pandai masak ni tak nak comment apa-apa. Kalau dilihat dari foto-foto nampaknya semua sedap2 belaka.. Insyaallah suatu hari nanti saya akan create blog saya sendiri.. kena belajarlah dulu lah ya.. satu saja yg saya tak nampak dalam blog makcik ialah sports activity.. mungkin bukan kegemaran makcik sekeluarga.. Teruskan kerja amal makcik memberi panduan masak.. banyak pahala tau. Saya masih ingat kata-kata "Seorang isteri/ibu yang secara ikhlas memasak dan menghidang makanan untuk suami dan anak-anak dan duduk makan bersama-sama akan menambah kerukunan, keharmonian dan keberkatan hidup berkeluarga". Apa tah lagi bagi orang yg suka memberi panduan memasak pada umum dengan percuma pasti banyak pahala dan ganjaran dari Allah. Salam hormat dari saya.. Wassalam.

    - tenkiu bagi banyak perangsang. makcik pun syok buat blog ni so that tua2 esok bolehlah tengok balik...cuma takut TERtak ingat nama bloglah pulak he he
    - gambar ni semua ambik sendiri..ada guna digital & banyaknya guna hp je....see the leg laaa..seni tak berapa..senoi kut..
    - sukan tak dak, tak sempat..gym saja..taklehlah tunjuk....

    mkhaix - bolehlah kita share resepi. ada jugak kadang masak, snap gambaq...blurrrr so tak mau post lah...meh kita tukar2 idea.

  8. :).. hebat juga makcik ni.. sya juga ada byk gambar tp malu nak post kat blog he he!! Banyak berzikir insyaallah tak lupa masa tua.. nak minta izin untuk distribute resepi mak cik kat kawan2 di oversea ni.. boleh dia org masak sendiri. tak lah kempunan sgt masakan Msia.. boleh ka?

    Ya kat Jeddah.. mmm.. pandai pun teka! ramai sangat yg nak jamu saya makan tapi dia org tak dak resepi yg istimewa.. mlm tadi makan Tom Yam and gulai lemak kat rumah kawan tapi tak faham2 sajalah..asyik yg sama saja..

    Apa habaq? nampak dlm gambaq macam bertambah sihat.. saya macam biasa lah.. bila nak mai buat Umrah?
