Synopsis: Visit a specialist for a troubled throat. After a throat check at the (same) clinic, taken up for a more detailed nasal endoscopy

The long awaited project. A niece asked to make a baby blanket for her unborn (at the time) baby. Having no experience at doing this, I browsed thru the internet & found one pattern that I liked. Thru discussion/consultation with the guru, below is the final product.

Embracing Imperfection

A touching story by a girl. 

  "When I was a little girl, my mom liked to make breakfast food for dinner every now and then. And I remember one night in particular when she had made breakfast after a long, hard day at work. 

On that evening so long ago, my mom placed a plate of fruits and extremely burned toast in front of my dad. I remember waiting to see if anyone noticed! Yet all my dad did was reach for his toast, smile at my mom, and ask me how my day was at school. I don't remember what I told him that night, but I do remember Watching him smear butter and jelly on that toast and eat every bite! 

When I got Up from the table that evening, I remember hearing my mom apologize to my dad For burning the toast. And I'll never forget what he said: 'Baby, I love burned toast.' 

Later that night, I went to kiss Daddy good night and I asked him if He really liked his toast burned. He wrapped me in his arms and said, 'Dear, your Momma put in a hard day at work today and she's real tired. And besides-a little burnt toast never hurt anyone!' You know, life is full of imperfect things.....and imperfect people. I'm not the best housekeeper or cook. 

What I've learned over the years is that learning to accept each other's faults - and choosing to celebrate each other's differences - is the one of the most important keys to creating a healthy, growing, and lasting relationship. 

And that's my prayer for you today. That you will learn to take the good, the bad, and the ugly parts of your married life and lay them at the feet of GOD. Because in the end, He's the only One who will be able to give you a marriage where burnt toast isn't a deal-breaker! We could extend this to any relationship in fact - as understanding is the base of any relationship, be it a husband-wife or parent-child or friendship!! "

Jemput, jemput, sila lah

Today (ops its already 12 sumthing)- i mean saturday was a busy day.  Invited our Terengganu 'clan' over for dinner. they were here since thursday.

Busy preparing that I forgot to take photos of the food:- roast lamb, nasi arab, green salad, potato salad, baked pasta...fruits. halfway thru eating fruits (strawberry/grapes) hubby said, why not kita buat fondue?

Hmmmm, terus pi dapur and buat lah. They all, especially the nieces/nephews loved it & started talking about datuk CT being given the chocolate coated strawberry by datuk K & bla bla.

it was fun watching them eat & joke....all i had of them was that moment up there.

I have not been updating on food for quite a while;

• Been cooking, but not been taking photos..
  
• Not used to my new hp camera, most of the photos were not of good quality.
  
• Lazy to use the slr, found it to be too bothersome in a quick situation.
  

I miss updating, so today, i feel i should just put my cooking no matter how it looked.

The Camera Bag

Started on this one more than a month ago....juggle in between house chores. This project was based on a Lowepro Stealth camera bag that troy16 had.

Measures about 12"x 8"x 9"(L x W x H)

The Bag

With some guidance from the guru, all i did was measure the original bag, and start cutting the material.

It was along the way into making it that i realized, i should have done this, should have done that.

Note: i wanted The Bag to be blue, so i thought, blue should be the body. I added color by putting red for the pockets and the top cover(so as not to make it look monotonous) , BUT when it was done, see what happens?? the red seems to dominate. How wrong i was there!

After all the sweat (luckily no tears!), I managed to complete & would say I'm proud of it.

I wish i can share the tutorials with enthusiasts out there, but unfortunately, I was also learning (& also making mistakes) while doing it, that I don't even think of taking photos during the process. However, we can share/exchange knowledge/information thru emails.

Alaaahai Chot-after 4 months

I should also update about this 'extended' family member of mine....yes! Chot. Ciannn die.

When I first took him home, he looked timid and kept close to his mate (all of them died since) and he weighed 340gm.

Now, 4 months later, he has grown into (quite) a handsome fella, weighing about 1.4kg (1400gm!)very hairy and very confident.

Chot after 4 months, this guy really cannot sit still......

My son said that Chot had cast a spell so he'll be alone and pampered (probable reason why his mates died).

But, look at what he's done! ..

One step to another phase of life.......

Selamat bertunang Nizam.....a step into marriage life.

This week was full of activities......monday= mom's hospital appointment, tuesday= my appointment, wednesday, i have to finish with stuff for a friend's son engagement. Went shopping last week but I only have time to do yesterday.....and alhamdulillah i managed to complete and ready for her collection today.

The Flyer

My eldest organized an event called 'Goggle Fest 2009' held @ Tapak Pesta, Pg.

He had been talking , sourcing info,brain-storming for months & finally organizing this event yesterday.

Family involvement pun; mum/dad-masak, adik-photographer.

The best part(????) is...."Mum, can you help sponsor food for us?"........

"ok u prepare breakfast for 100 pax (me: ??).........

"there's no foodstalls during the event..." (me:??). 

Then his friend (epi) came to say he's helping alif sell drinks. I started thinking..."how is he going to prepare at his rented house?"....."ok U come & prepare here......"  and...

"auntie, why don't you make sandwiches....we do cheap ones la to cater for them..mostly youngsters/students whose budget is......"

There goes! Bermulalah episode 'bersilat' kat dapur. 

First:  The preparation for breakfast, mentally prepared, I packed fried beehoon - done!

Then: The sandwiches, simple ones; sardine & egg. Simple but still there's preparation to do.

Troy16 also chipped in to say he'll help fry mee (yellow noodles) pulak. Reason- for added variety. okay, epi you pls go buy container, more roti, sardines, eggs, bla bla bla....(obladi oblada...)

After 3 rounds of cooking & packing (morning till just before maghrib), we stopped (dah tak ada apa nak masak dah..)

After maghrib, we went to the event site as alif kept messaging asking us to be there......

Furthermore this was his first big project he's putting his hands & legs into..kalu profitable- alhamdulillah, kalu breakeven-tak apa first try- better luck next time....kalu rugi??-tepuk dahi lah & obviously many things to learn-  what else?

Mama & Papa (yg berlagak rock) nipun masuklah ke event site.....given a special tag at the entrance. 

Mak aiiih dengar muzik macam nak luruh jantung! Guess we're too old for that kind of music, tapi yang penting- MORAL SUPPORT

We stayed a while, saw alif (he looked very tired & drained out, his voice was out too), checked & helped a bit at the food stall, borak2 kat ticket booth & then we're off. Didn't wait for the last band (hilite of the day) to perform.....

Summary:

•  Looking at the crowd & feedback, alif succeeded in his first attempt at event organizing.
  
• Amazed with their friendship spirit. He had ~ 50 crews, all are his friends. They don't get paid, in fact, they have to pay RM10 for the official t-shirt (which is actually below cost price, also courtesy of his buddy)
  
• Still about friendship- friends came from afar to give their moral support. (pst pst, our house jadi port)
  
• Keperihatinan  tentang kebersihan masih kurang - rubbish strewn everywhere (though i learnt the crews did spring cleaning after the event).
  
• Learning curve for everyone involve towards a better development of oneself, obviously they'll have a post-event brainstorming session.
  
• Although tired, I am happy to be doing these bits for my children and his friends, infact looking forward to seeing them again at post-event do, hopefully in my house soon.

banyak sebenarnya nak dicerita..tapi entahlah, otak seakan beku, jari jemariku bagai kaku....(eh eh boleh tulis cerpen ni)...

anyway, i just want to tell about gifts I received. To me gift=something (no matter what) you received when you least expected it.

Gift Story 1: during month of Ramadhan

L1  : this looks good...but there's only one & there's two of us(nanti berebut kan)

L2  : u can hv it, I have one at home....... seldom use....

L1  : (think, think, think) ok i take it!

 item (very cheap)  went into shopping cart, more shopping after that...and we arrived at payment counter..

L2: tell u what, i'll pay for the item, it's raya gift from me lah...

L1 : U sure?.....(bla bla bla)...ok then, tq in advance.

payment made, not bothered to see the price as we had with us loads of groceries..

L1          : dik how much is this one?

Cashier : (check, check, check)...68 sen kak.

L1 & L2: look at each other, keep laughter in the stomach...ooooo its about to burst!

L1 & L2: ha ha ha (on way to parking lot), the cost can't even cover the wooden piece....infact it was cheaper than the price indicated.

What is it????

nana: what's new? just asking, we all have one each oredy(=already).

cashier: nemind one (=never mind), look look first no probrem (= no prob)

nana: let me see your &^%$.

aci    : (giving item while continue to browse mags just purchased)

nana & cashier: bla bla can ...ok...bla...ok...better keeplah.....

nana: ok, i'll come back in half an hour....

aci    : u sure wanna buy that?

nana : yes, i've bought @#$& this, i've given %^&* that but nothing for u

aci     : (kembang jugak semangkuk atas ingatan tu...) but i've already have *^%$&^ the other day.

nana : tak pa...sayang bini....

Gift Story 3: week 3.3 of syawal

Was helping a friend find stuffs for her son's engagement. While choosing for her, I can't help but found something for myself....

me: ok yang ni & yang ni, you buat macam ni.....bla bla bla (you know when che kiah started talking)

me: (oh dia dah kaotim sekali rupanya....), terima kasih...

Was invited to a tahlil of a friend of a friend of a friend (this was the first time i met her) 

Home cooked food was  good, the host was hospitable.......and just before we left......
