Betapa berat mata memandang......

Berat lagi bahu memikul...

Itulah satu pepatah melayu yang paling baik untuk di samakan dengan keaadan benda alah ni.....

The pisang being 'tortured'

Bayangkan, kalau kita bergerak dari satu tempat ke satu tempat dengan bergantung & badan kita berat...alaaaahai mau terkoyak bahu macam pisang tu kan?

Ohhhhhh.....kasihannnn

Kita yang guna kaki ni, kalau berat badan agak terlebih sikit, pasti kaki kita yang jadi mangsa kan?

Moral of the story : marilah kita sama sama berusaha menjaga berat badan supaya kaki kita tak tension menampung ya.

Live happily and healthily

BBQed stool

Last weekend son1 held a BBQ session at home for his friends. They did everything, from preparing to cleaning up.

But the next morning, i was shock to find this nostalgic, old stool blackened.

Apparently, they placed the grill on top of the stool to give it height.

Hmmmmmm, you don't learn this in university, do you?

Tote in jeans

These simple totes were completed sometime ago.

Muhaimin's jeans converted

sweet tote

I am also contemplating 'cleaning' up my blog:- arranging in proper labels but that would mean time in front of the computer.
I will do surely but slowly.

As for sewing I have two camera bags to do, a passport holder and two long purses.
And just few days ago a friend gave a 'knock on the head' with "how's your quilt progressing??". Well, that really woke me up. I have yet to finish my long overdue quilt.

Eating in & eating out & earth hour

March is coming to an end. It has been quite a busy one for me as i either had visitors in my house or visited places.
Last week was no exception. I had 'appointment' literally everyday.
Last night pakcik had dinner outside & i prepared rosti for son1. I will share the recipe in my other entries.

Rosti & cheese sausages

Today, makcik & pakcik went out, pakcik supposedly wanted to do street shooting. We had Briyani at Kapitan for lunch.

Lunch = Briyani

In support of earth hour today, we decided to keep our house dark, so we went out. After some magazine shopping, we had dinner.

all these for dinner @ PHOP

Burp!!! Alhamdulillahh

Hai abang, awat lambat sangat?

Baru saja balik dari makan 'angin'...

We went to this new eatery by the sea, overlooking the Penang Bridge.

Location: Kalau dari Penang bridge, masuk kiri ikut hala Jerejak Resort & the place is on the left.

Orderlah....since kita dua orang saja...we ordered Laici & air tembikai; mee hailam & bihun sup.
Sementara menunggu, dok kat meja bawah pokok rasa syok hembusan angin sepoi sepoi bahasa sambil menikmati keindahan malam jambatan tepanjang di Asia nih...sambil juga di hiburkan dengan deruan air laut menghempas pantai.

15 minit tunggu air sampai, orang taklah ramai sangat....
Perut dok nyanyi lagu arab dah, makan tak sampai lagi. Dah dekat 20 minit lagi tunggu, pakcik pun pi ...
"Lambat lagi ka?"

"Abang punya lambat lagi, banyak ode, tangan dua saja..."

---adehhhh, takpalah, hang simpan lah tangan tu kat orang lain, kami tak boleh tunggu dah---
(ayat ni simpan dalam hati saja tau)

Paid for the drinks & balik.....tak dan nak rasa bihun sup & mee haiiilaaammm(bat)

Comment: Tempat cantik, makan tak tau.

Bayangkan kalu kami ode ikan 3 rasa, tomyam sayoq, teloq dadar, ketam bakaq...pastinya TEBAKAQ!

Dah tak dak apa nak tunjuk, sila lah tengok gambaq food masa kami makan kat Paddington House of Pancake hari tu

0.3l rice cooker cover

Bought this rice cooker, smallest size available two weeks ago.

Seems that I labelled all my sewing projects as "Quilt/Patchwork", but looks like i have more bags than the actual quilting.
I will try to segregate them once i have more quilting project to display.

Good night.

Steamed Tapioca Cake (Bingka Ubi Kukus)

.....atau nama lainnya Bengkang (bingka) Ubi Kukus.

I did this cake 'by accident' when i saw already-grated-tapioca at the market today. There's only about 200 gm left so i said 'kasi semua...'
Not knowing what to make(actually), i bought some grated coconut & also coconut milk.

Then I thought maybe i should try steaming it....

It tastes good. I don't have a proper recipe but would like to share how simple it is to make this.

all you need is:

Grated tapioca (ubi kayu parut) - strain
Enough sugar - I just use sugar syrup
pinch of salt
Food colouring (if you like)
Grated coconut mix with little salt

- Mix grated tapioca, syrup & salt to your taste.
- Steam half the mixture for ~ 15 mins.
- Add red colouring to the other half  and pour on top of the 1st mixture.
- Steam for another 20-30 mins.
- Leave to cool, cut and roll it over grated coconut.

Coincidently I have visitors at home today, so they had this

The very busy week

Last week was a very busy one for me with buzz of activities....
Prior to 'Majlis Kawin' (wedding ceremony) of a niece, my family played host to relatives from Singapore.

It's a two-in-one visit. We took them around and they particularly love the gurney drive hawker center and the Feringhi night market

They also went on a 'shopping spree' buying jeruk (pickled fruits) to take home.

mixed jeruk

The delayed flight home did not deter or angered them. Instead, they took that opportunity to enjoy nasi kandar as they only sampled roti canai, tosai, puri etc from the nasi kandar stall the previous night.
